Garden city
Štefková, Dominika ; Pohůnek, Jakub (referee) ; Toman, Radek (advisor)
Both blocks are architecturally almost identical. Their only difference is in the mirroring and the change of functions in the ground floor. The mass of the block has a square floor plan, which maintains a flat urban mass from the outside. The retreating terraces are oriented inside the block, thus creating a conical atrium. This atrium does not follow a square shape but is widened on the north-south sides. Around the perimeter of the block there are flats which, together with the supporting structure, form a facade from the outside. The inner perimeter of the block consists of shared terraces. These terraces form the communication of the whole building. All stairs are connected to it. The terraces give way to each floor by 1.5 m and with them the staircase arms are located on the east and west sides of the atrium. To the north and south are two stairwells with an elevator. The floor plan arrangement is centrally axially symmetrical.
Zhodnocení jakostních parametrů tepelně opracovaných masných výrobků s přídavkem masa nutrie říční
Tesařová, Nela
The thesis is focused on the evaluation of selected quality parameters of heat-treated meat products with the addition of nutria meat. According to the analysis of chemical composition, nutria meat contains 23.30% dry matter, 20.24% protein, 2.00% fat and 1.00% minerals. The loss of meat juice in nutria meat was 33 %. Two types of meat products were produced from nutria meat - frankfurters and cooked salami. The chemical composition of the experimental nutria frankfurter was 36.65% dry matter, 17.79% protein, 16.35% fat and 2.51% salt. The chemical composition of cooked salami was 30.04 % dry matter, 14.10 % protein, 13.84 % fat and 2.10 % salt. The products were monitored for textural properties and colour characteristics. The strength of the frankfurters with nutria meat determined by the MORS method was 18.25 N for the unheated and 20.89 N for the heated. For the cooked salami was 2.16 N. The colour properties of the frankfurters were measured by the instrumental method on the cut and surface. The frankfurters were measured in the heated and unheated state. The frankfurters on the cut showed significant differences (p <0.05) in all values in the heated and unheated state. The surface frankfurters showed significant differences (p < 0.05) in all values only in the heated state. In the unheated state, there was a significant difference (p < 0.05) only in the L* brightness value. Significant differences (p < 0.05) were found in colour characteristics between the cooked salami with nutria meat and the control. Thus, river nutria meat is suitable to produce heat-treated meat products such as cooked salami and frankfurters without affecting the quality parameters.
Minující hmyz na dřevinách ve vybraných parcích v Brně a okolí
Flajzarová, Andrea
In the three parks in Brno and its surroundings (arboretum of the Mendel university in Brno, the arboretum Křtiny and the forest park Kalvárie in Bučovice) the diversity of mining butterflies on ornamental trees was monitored in 2017 – 2018. The aim of the final thesis was to find out the spectrum of the mining butterflies, to determine a differences in species composition of the mining butterflies on the individual study areas and measure the degree of attack in host trees. A total of 47 species of mining butterflies were found. The most species were found in the arboretum of the Mendel university (31 species), the arboretum Křtiny (19 species) and at least species were found in the forest park Kalvárie (15 species). The most species who were found belong to the family of Gracillariidae (21 species) and Nepticulidae (20 species), the less species was from the family Tischeridae (2 species), Yponomeutidae (1 species) and Coleophoridae (1 species). The most abundant were the species of lithocolletinae, especially Cameraria ohridella on Aesculus hippocastanum, Phyllonorycter platani on Platanus acerifolia and Phyllonorycter issikii on genus Tilia. Against these species should be targeted a possible protection of host trees. The most species of mining butterflies were found on the wooden plant: Quercus robur, Fagus sylvatica, Quercus faginea, Quercus pubescens, Carpinus betulus a Ulmus glabra.
Stav a perspektivy post-industriálního sídla : recyklace degradovaných krajin /
Matějka, Daniel
The thesis „The status and perspectives of post-industrial sites“ with the sub-title „Recycling of degraded landscapes“ deals with the research of post-industrial objects, areas, sites and landscape and possibilities for their further utilization. This thesis focuses on brownfield classification and subsequent definition of criteria that are significant for choice of acceptable conversion of post-industrial areas with emphasis on use of landscape architecture as the main field of study applied in the work of selected conversions. For the purpose of categorization and searching for forms of transformations, the author chooses and draws up a catalogue of 61 executed conversions located in the old industrial areas in Germany, afterwards defines a set of general recommendations for post-industrial areas development, or post-industrial landscape development; the main benefits, which these specific landscapes bring or may bring to us (both at the level of cultural and historical values, recreational potential, psychogeographic importance and the economic possibilities), also defining risks of post-industrial areas (specification of their urgency and finding ways to elimination) and subsequently verifies these conclusions on a basis of own project conversions of post-industrial areas, which enables final explicit extraction of knowledge into the resulting recommendations. Special attention is paid to post-industrial vegetation, in the thesis there are defined four possible approaches to its integration into urban ecosystem (retaining, adjustment, complementation and negation). Further high attention is paid to classification and possibilities of railway brownfield conversions, classification and possibilities of dumps (spoil banks) conversions and classification and possibilities of large industrial areas conversions. The final set of strategies for post-industrial landscapes conversion comprises 6 articles: (1) Ensuring and conservation of valuable industrial buildings and other post-industrial landscape elements; (2) Interconnection of areas with natural surroundings and urban ecosystem and support of permeability in post-industrial landscapes; (3) Renaturation, solving of contamination and pollution problems; (4) Area improvement, attractors and post-industrial significant signs selection and their protection and development; (5) Creation of a full-area concept for a development of an area or a region; (6) Medialization support and awareness of post-industrial landscape revitalization possibilities. The aim of this thesis is to help to save industrial heritage of certain areas and to outline the ways of searching for new meaningful utilization of post-industrial areas.

Between historical downtown and periphery
Likavčanová, Jana
This article documents the space between historical downtown and periphery. Rampart was situated here from the 13rd century to the begining of the 19th century that were developed and expanded. Rampart was demolished after this period and Brno’s ring boulevard was created in this place like in Vienna. Brno’s ring boulevard was designed as a promenade with parks and important buildings. Nowadays are discovered the fragments of the original rampart as a proof of it’s history. Brno’s ring boulevard is arterial road so many of it’s parts aren’t used by pedestrians and looks like abandoned. It divides the historical downtown and periphery as the rampart instead to conects them in one organism. This sitiuaton invite us to devote Brno’s ring boulevard in our projects. Last year was international workshop in Fakulty of architecture in Brno university of technology. Also some students of this university in their project solved problems of the Brno’s ring boulevard in their projects in winter semester 2013-2014.
